I would have to agree with an earlier post that I was a little confused as to the format of "Dear Boy George." It sounds like a poem, yet I am not familiar with this type of format. I did enjoy it however, the randomness of it made me laugh, but some of the lines I could actually relate to (as weird as that may sound). It sounds like to me that the writer is obsessed with someone, and when you have that sort of infatuation or love for another person, you sometimes can act a little crazy. It sounds like to me that this is more of an unattainable crush and I certainly remember the days of celebrity crushes with the Backstreet Boys, when you thought that one day you would actually marry one of them. I love the part where Gerstler writes, "When I misunderstand your lyrics, they get even better. I thought the line...'undercover bough arrival..' Great, huh? See, we're of like minds. I almost died when..." This whole section is hilarious because the author is trying to impress her crush, but she is so overwhelmed at the thought of him that she can not finish a thought.
I also like the poem "Between." To answer someone's earlier post, I did notice her word choice; very interesting. Hopefully we'll talk about it in class. `I liked the poem for a reason I can't explain. I read it a few times and can't make total sense of it. I did notice all her use of body parts though. I thought it was a cool poem.
See you all in class!
