I agree with Chesney, the ‘candy and medicine’ really helped me be able to dissect poems in a more indepth way. I also found that it made it easier for me to write my own poem! I would definantly like to work more on the writing aspect of the ‘candy and medicine’ technique.
As for the readings for Tuesday, I am very aware of the fact that I need to keep an open mind, however I did not understand the point of the “Blah-Blah” poem. I truly hope that this is not a popular poem as I cannot see its true substance. What is the point? I am truly sorry if I have offended anyone in any way but I am sort of invigorated by this poem as I feel like a baby could have written this! Yet again, I ask all class members… What is the point!? I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but seriously Harryette Mullen, you can do better.
On a more positive note, I really liked the poem “next to of course god america i” as I feel like it was written very well. I understood exactly what the author was aiming for and I particularly liked the way the author did not capitalize anything… nice touch!
